INFORMATION ON THE PREPARATORY COURSE FOR UNIVERSITY ACCESS FOR PEOPLE OVER 25 YEARS OLD. 

  • Registration period: from September 2 to October 17, 2025. 
  • The course will be entirely in-person. The material for the different subjects will be accessible through the student’s authenticated access.
  • Course start date: September 26, 2025.

What are the preparatory courses for university access for people over 25?

It is an initiative of the Vice-Rectorate for Students and Coordination of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche that aims to facilitate entry into the university, through the preparation of the subjects that make up the PAU 25 exam (University Access Exam for Over 25s).

The requirement to be able to take the university entrance exams for people over 25 years of age is the following: Not meeting the necessary conditions for access to undergraduate studies and being 25 years old or turning 25 in the year in which the exams are held.

How do I register?

Registration will begin on September 2nd and end on October 17th, 2025.

Registration must be completed by filling out the form(opens in a new window)  , which can be accessed by selecting the following:

  • “Sort of Education” field: Pruebas Acceso Mayores 25 años.
  • “Course” field: Curso Pruebas Acceso Mayores 25 años.

IMPORTANT: Your registration will become effective upon receipt of payment. You do not need to bring proof of payment to the university. Please see the course schedule at the top of this page.

How much does it cost?

The price of the course is 210 euros.

Deductions applicable in this academic year:

  • Students enrolled in the PAU25 course who pass the University Entrance Exam for Adults over 25 and enroll in a degree program at Miguel Hernández University will receive a €210 discount on their first-year tuition fees. This discount will be applied to the amount paid in the case of reduced tuition fees.
  • Students enrolled in the PAU25 course who take the University Entrance Exam for Adults over 25 but do not pass will be entitled to a €105 discount on their tuition fees for the following year’s PAU25 Course. This discount will be applied to the amount paid in the case of reduced tuition fees.
  • Students who can prove they are from a large family will receive a 50% discount on the course price (general large family) and a 100% discount (special large family).
  • Students who can prove a disability equal to or greater than 33% or equivalent (Social Security pensioners who have been recognized as having a permanent disability at the level of total, absolute or great disability and pensioners of passive classes who have been recognized as having a retirement or pension for permanent incapacity for service or unfitness), will have a 100% exemption from fees.
  • Students who can prove they are members of single-parent families will receive a 50% discount on the course price (general single-parent family) and a 100% discount (special single-parent family).
  • Students who can prove they are victims of terrorism will be entitled to a 100% exemption from paying fees.
  • Female students who can prove they are victims of acts of violence against women will be entitled to a 100% exemption from paying fees.
  • Students who can prove they have been subject to the child protection system or the judicial re-education system, as well as being in a situation of social exclusion and are accredited by the competent body, will enjoy a 100% exemption from fees.
  • Students who prove their status as having a minimum living income or Valencian inclusion income through the competent body will enjoy a 100% exemption from fees.

Who is it for?

People who have no other means of accessing the university and wish to prepare beforehand for the access exams for people over 25.

What subjects are taught?

The course is structured around the six subjects that make up the access exam for people over 25:

  • Common subjects: Four mandatory subjects for everyone: Spanish Language / Valencian Language / Foreign Language: French or English / Text Commentary.
  • Specific subjects: Two subjects: one mandatory and one elective from your chosen option, or two elective subjects if the option does not have a mandatory one.
    • A) Arts and Humanities. Elective subjects: Artistic Drawing / Plastic Expression Techniques / Philosophy / History.
    • B) Sciences. Mandatory subject: Mathematics. Elective subjects: Chemistry / Physics.
    • C) Heath Sciences. Mandatory subject: Biology. Elective subjects: Physics / Chemistry.
    • D) Social and Legal Sciences. Elective subjects: History / Mathematics / Geography.
    • E) Engineering and Architecture: Mandatory subject: Mathematics. Elective subjects: Technical Drawing / Physics.

Who teaches the classes?

Specialist teachers with extensive training and experience in the content of each of the subjects required in the university entrance exams for those over 25 years of age.

When are the classes held?

Classes will begin on September 26, 2025, and end on March 14, 2026. Each subject will consist of 20 hours of in-person instruction. Classes will be held on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at the Elche campus.
