CREDIT RECOGNITION
4 May 2026
DEFINITION OF RECOGNITION
Credit recognition is the acceptance by a university of credits earned in official programs, whether at the same or another university, that are counted towards a different official degree. Credits earned in other official higher education programs (only for bachelor’s studies) or in university programs leading to other degrees, as referred to in Article 7 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System, may also be recognized. Accredited work and professional experience may also be recognized as credits, which will count towards an official degree, provided that such experience is related to the competencies inherent to that degree. Furthermore, at UMH, elective credits for undergraduate studies may be recognized through the accreditation of the acquisition of transversal and professional competencies.
