What is homologation?
Validation is the official recognition of training completed for a foreign degree, equivalent to that required for a Spanish degree that qualifies the holder to practice a regulated profession. How to apply for homologation?
The application for homologation must be made to the competent Ministry in accordance with the following procedure![]()
Practice of the regulated profession of Lawyer or General Health Psychologist
To practice any of the professions listed, you must complete a qualifying Master’s degree, which is accessed with a Bachelor’s degree in Law or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, respectively. Therefore, you must follow the procedure below:
- Apply for admission with partial university studies at UMH in order to obtain the corresponding degree.
- Apply for the homologation or complete the master’s degree that qualifies for the corresponding regulated profession: university master’s degree in law and procuration
and university master’s degree in general university psychology
respectively.
How to complete the additional training requirements to obtain certification?
The recognition of a foreign degree may be conditional upon the applicant’s prior completion of additional training requirements. Students can obtain these additional training requirements from undergraduate degrees offered at UMH as follows:
- Who can make the application: Students who have received notification of the final resolution from the competent ministry, which expresses the need for prior completion of the supplementary training requirements.
- Deadlines:
- From July 24 to 29, 2025.
- From May 1st to 15th, 2025, only for completing the Supervised Internship module (Stays) of the Pharmacy degree. Requirements for enrollment in the Supervised Internship.PDF.156kB

- How to submit the application:
- Through a general application via the UMH electronic headquarters
addressed to the Vice-Rector of Studies, attaching the following documentation:
- Notification of the final resolution issued by the Ministry.
- Student’s identity document.
- Accreditation of level B2 of Spanish, if applicable.
- The application must indicate the subjects that the student wishes to pass in the corresponding academic year.
- Through a general application via the UMH electronic headquarters
- Procedure if the application is accepted:
- Students will enroll in the subjects of the corresponding degree curriculum according to the guidelines of the Faculty or School.
- Students will take exams during the regular examination period for the subjects they are enrolled in. Students are only entitled to one examination period per academic year.
- The fee for completing the required coursework is €16.43 per enrolled ECTS credit (fee subject to change). The receipt will be provided to the applicant by the relevant Faculty or School.
What is equivalence?
The equivalence of a foreign degree to an official university qualification and academic level, which is not a requirement for access to the practice of a regulated profession, is the official recognition of the training completed to obtain a foreign degree, as equivalent to that required to obtain one of the levels in which Spanish university studies are structured, as well as to the qualifications corresponding to an area and field.PDF.98.4kB (spanish)
