CREDIT RECOGNITION THROUGH THE ACREDITATION OF WORK AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Accredited work and professional experience may also be recognized in the form of credits that will count towards obtaining an official degree, provided that such experience is related to the skills inherent to that degree.
The number of credits recognized based on professional or work experience and non-official university studies may not exceed 15 percent of the total credits required for the degree program. The recognition of these credits will not include a grade for them, meaning they will not be included in the grade point average (GPA) calculation of the academic record. The minimum required period is three months of full-time work or its part-time equivalent. The equivalence applied would be up to 0.5 ECTS for every three months of full-time work, based on the relevance of the professional or work experience to the competencies of the degree program.
When and how to apply for credit recognition through accreditation of work and professional experience?
- Deadline: The application will be accepted from the day after the completion of your enrollment until September 15, 2026.
- How: The application is submitted electronically. The application is located in your authenticated student access and is called “Application and consultation for recognition of credits for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Studies” (Solicitud y consulta de reconocimiento de créditos en estudios de Grado y Máster Universitario), then you must access “Accreditation of work and professional experience” (Acreditación de experiencial laboral y profesional).
What documentation must I need provide?
The required documentation is listed below. It is important to note that the following documentation is not exhaustive. Students should provide all information relevant to their work experience.
You must provide the following documentation in PDF format:
- Work history report.
- A certificate from the company or organization reflecting the student’s work experience and the period of employment, demonstrating that their length of service within the social security contribution group is related to the skills acquired during their studies. If this certificate cannot be provided due to a company closure, the corresponding employment contract must be submitted, provided that the necessary information regarding the acquired skills can be obtained from it.
- If the student has carried out activities under the General Regime for Self-Employed Workers, the corresponding Economic Activities Tax (IAE) code must be provided. Furthermore, the student must provide documentary evidence of the activities carried out.
- Certificate from the relevant Official College, if applicable.
- Tax census certificate from the State Tax Administration Agency in the case that the student works as a liberal not registered as a self-employed person.
What should I do once I have submitted the online application?
- Once you have completed the application, it is reviewed and if everything is correct, it is sent to the corresponding Faculty or School for evaluation.
- Once your application has been processed, the documentation may be required for verification at the corresponding Campus Management Center.
- If the documentation has an electronic signature, it will not be necessary to present it at the Campus Management Center for verification.
What price must be paid if the recognition of credits is favorable?
The fee is the 100% of the credit price established by the Decree of the Consell, which regulates the public prices for university academic and complentary services.
Can I add subjects to my enrollment if I am granted credit for those subjects?
There are two periods available for enrollment expansion:
- From the day after the submission of the recognition request until September 21, 2026. It will be done on line through your authenticated student access. If you cannot modify your enrollment throuht the aplication, you have to send an email to
- From January 7 to 14, 2027. It will be done online through your authenticated student access.
