TEACHER TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

In the 2025-2026 academic year, we are launching the 24th edition of the Miguel Hernández University’s Teacher Training and Improvement Program. This program responds to the training demands and needs expressed by our faculty, as well as the objectives established in the UMH’s Docentia Program, fostering the development of teaching competencies among university professors and promoting educational excellence.

This program emphasizes the close relationship between university faculty development and teaching quality, and encompasses a range of activities and resources organized by the university to enhance the personal and professional growth of its participants. It is a program open to change and continuous improvement, and its offerings and training activities have grown thanks to the involvement of the Departments, Centers, and all faculty members of Miguel Hernández University.

Objectives:

The objectives of the Teacher Training and Improvement Program are:

  • To ensure the quality of teaching and achieve educational excellence.
  • To train university teaching staff in the different elements that influence the teaching-learning process: teaching planning, teaching methods, evaluation, student motivation, communication skills, autonomous learning, tutoring, etc.
  • Facilitate strategies to support teaching and research work.
  • To prepare university faculty in the didactic possibilities of the new digital teaching-learning platforms.
