Procedure for requesting recognition of credits for Continuing Education

Credits passed in any non-official university education referring to article 7 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, of the University System, of a Spanish university may be recognized in the same terms expressed in section 3.3.1 of the UMH Regulations on Recognition and Transfer of Credits in Official Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees.

The number of credits recognized based on professional or work experience and non-official university studies may not exceed 15 percent of the total credits in the study plan. Recognition of these credits will not include a grade and therefore will not be included in the academic record calculation.

When and how to process the application for credit recognition?

• Deadline: The application will be accepted from the day after the completion of your enrollment until September 15, 2025.
• How: The procedure is carried out through a general application from the UMH electronic headquarters addressed to the corresponding Campus Management Center . 

What documentation do I need to provide?

• UMH Own Studies: copy of the degree in PDF format.
• Postgraduate studies from other universities. You must have the following documentation in PDF format:
  • Qualification.
  • Personal academic certification must be stamped by the university of origin or have a secure verification code (CSV).
  • The document containing the academic content of the courses taken must be stamped by the university or have a secure verification code (CSV).

What should I do once I have submitted the online application?

Once you have completed the application, you do not need to submit the original documents. These documents may be requested for verification at the corresponding Campus Management Center once your application has been processed. 

What price must be paid if the recognition of credits is favorable?

25% of the credit price established in the Decree of the Consell , which regulates the public prices of academic and complementary university services.

Can I add subjects to my enrollment if I am granted credit for those subjects?

There are two enrollment extension periods available:

• From the day after the submission of the recognition application until September 22, 2025. It will be done electronically through your identified access.
• From January 7 to 14, 2026. It will be done electronically through your identified access.

Credits eligible for recognition from the defunct own study in Security and Police Sciences.

Below you can consult the credits eligible for recognition in the Bachelor’s Degree in Public and Private Security through the accreditation of the UMH’s Own Study which is discontinued upon the implementation of said Bachelor’s Degree.
